Polish Film Festival 2009 - Confrontation with Polish Cinema

Last fall Bielsko-Biala sister city committee brought three films, Katyn, Just Beyond This Forest and Warszawa, to the Bytwerk Theater (at Calvin College) to celebrate Polish Cinema. The feature film Katyn comes from acclaimed Polish director and winner of a lifetime achievement Academy Award, Andrzej Wajda. Wajda created an epic and personal tale about one of WWII's notorious cover-ups, where the struggle for memory and truth takes place amid a chilling conspiracy of silence.
A dessert followed to provide an opprotunity for viewers to mingle and discuss the films.
