Here are a few opportunities for you to tap into the Grand Rapids Sister Cities International Program.
Each sister city is represented by a committee of volunteers who have a particular interest in a city, language, or part of the world. These committee members play an important role in developing and maintaining sister city relationships.
Many additional volunteers, who share an interest in international affairs, provide home stays and hospitality for sister city visitors, assist with special events, and serve as interpreters and tour guides.
Throughout the program’s history, Grand Rapids area business, civic, and cultural leaders have lent their support in a variety of ways including hosting receptions and fund raising activities and sponsoring exchanges in the Grand Rapids area and around the world. We also receive support from the City of Grand Rapids in many different ways. Whether your interest is business, government, international relations and diplomacy, the arts, education, personal enrichment, or ethnic heritage, the Grand Rapids Sister Cities International program offers many opportunities to engage that interest by interacting with people from around the world.
To get involved with any of these of any other opportunities please complete the form on our volunteer page and we will be in contact with you.
